Another home renovation with a difference. This newly built home was given a whole new lease on life.

Renovating this home consisted of completely gutting all the interior finishes, removing and replacing all windows and doors.

We also made an addition to the side of the house, extending the existing house, building in the existing garage to form part of the home, constructing a new garage and Porte Cochure, redesigning the pool area and landscaping the yards and gardens.

After completely demolishing the house and then completing the home renovation, the house boosted an amazing parents master bedroom with ensuite and separate his and hers walk in robes (yes that's two walk in robes!), a gallery walkway to the three children's bedrooms on the newly added extension, a butlers kitchen, a stunning handcrafted hand painted kitchen, 3 study rooms, powder room, formal lounge, formal dining room and a marble foyer entrance, and hand turned staircase.

We loved the idea the Clients had with the ladies walk in robe. This was an extreme transformation it was originally a balcony of no use that lead off the master bedroom, they used this space wisely and enclosed it fully and turned it into a robe that any women would dream of.

The master bedroom ensuite was renovated using Kalcutta Marble tiles, the fully frameless extended shower - with double shower roses, and all new hand painted joinery and designed with that good old elegance touch. Was really well designed and nice to complete something different than the current trends.

A Masterchef's kitchen to dream of, this kitchen is the centrepiece of this family's home where Mum can watch the kids in the homework study, TV rumpus room, or at the dinner table or running around the yard. Features included a double oven, marble bench tops, instant hot/cold zip taps, hand made porcellain sinks imported from England, hand painted joinery and warming drawers to designer tapware.

The entry foyer was a timber floor that created no desire to meet visitors at the front door, Now the formal entry foyer was tiled in jet black marble and stark white Kalcutta marble laid in a checker board finish. The tiles were laid with a "nil grout finish" with a poxy resin top coat for the ultimate shine and presentation.

Our favourite finish in the home would have to be the staircase. This was completely custom built with many components that made up the staircase, most mouldings were hand carved or pieced together as many individual pieces. The turned ballustrade and handrail again hand carved just made this staircase a piece of artwork rather than a function of getting up and down the levels of a home. Various pieces of timber mouldings were built up to create the image of one single piece of timber and other little finishes that just made this staircase art.

In the Outdoor Areas we had all new standstone tiles placed, the glass pool fencing was replaced with seamless glass panelling, a centre piece water feature, that was then finished off with garden beds of pedelstool pots decorated with minture roses.

The grass lawn was framed in lollipop shaped fig trees creating a area for the kids to kick their footballs, a newly painted fence for the backdrop and this area was completely transformed.

Even though the Owners did know exactly what they wanted in the design of their home, they also instigated many Interior Designers through the Build. The use of Interior Designers allowed for the selection of finishes far more easier to outsource than having to outsource all the items yourself. Especially in this instance, the Owners had an exact image of the pieces they required.

The Owners of this home came as a referral from their parents. We had previously carried out a large renovation for her parents and they had recommended that they use Main Layne Constructions, even though they had already planned to use another local Builder. It was very satisfying to have such a strong recommendation and follow through to complete the renovation for them, the process of working through the project was at ease as the Owners had the trust and confidence that we would be looking after them having had such a good report from the parents.

For what began as a project home, with not a straight wall in the house. This house was renovated into a luxury custom designed home for this family.

Do I need to go shopping for my finishes and fixtures?

It is always a good idea to have a look around to find the look that you like.  It will also give you an indication of the various costs of these items and the different product ranges available.

However, if you find this process too overwhelming we have suppliers that can give you options, the pro and cons of each type of product and take the stress out of the decision making.  We have strong relationships with many suppliers so if time is NOT on your side this may be a good option for you.
